Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at ShipHawk.
Intern
I interviewed with the Head of Product, then the Product Manager and Technical Writing Manager. They asked some pretty easy behavioral and technical questions and were very kind people. They also asked me to show and walk through a project on my portfolio.
- Could you present and explain a project from your portfolio?
Intern
I got recruited through the career fair at UCSB. The first step was a quick chat on campus with two developers. They gave me a simple coding problem and then we chatted about ShipHawk. After that, I had an online coding challenge with two problems, which I had about an hour to complete. One problem was pretty easy, but the other was really hard. The final stage was an onsite interview, mostly to see if I'd be a good fit for the team. During the onsite, I got to shadow some developers.
- Did you get asked to solve the Fizz Buzz problem during the first interview?
Intern
I had one casual interview with a senior team member. We talked a little about my past experiences and I also went over a project I had done before. They mentioned another person was supposed to join the call but it ended up just being the one interviewer, who was nice.
- Tell me about a project you finished.
