First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at ShipBob.
Area Manager
I went through 5 interviews for this role. Initially, I applied for a different position, but they decided my experience was a better fit for an Area Manager and moved my application, which was great. On the day of my final interview, I was experiencing dental pain and had half my face numb. I emailed to see if we could reschedule for later that day, but I never heard back. It was pretty embarrassing because the interviewers kept looking at my face, confused throughout the entire interview. I eventually mentioned it to them, but they didn't respond.
- What motivated your application to ShipBob?
Area Manager
First you will have a call with the recruiter who will ask you some questions like if you are currently looking for work, what position you applied for, and what shifts you can work. They will also ask questions about your last job and duties. If the recruiter thinks you are a good fit, you will move on to a virtual interview with a ShipBob Manager. The interview process was smooth, and the recruiter and onboarding staff were transparent and communicated well. They were helpful and responded quickly.
- What are your thoughts on teamwork?
Area Manager
The 4-step process was pretty easy and didn't take too long. First, there was a recruiter call, then I spoke with the General Manager, followed by the HR Director, and finally the Hiring Manager. I heard back about the decision two days after the last interview. Everyone I talked to was really nice, professional, and gave me a good understanding of what the job is all about at each stage.
- Can you share your past leadership experience?
- What are some situations you've managed previously?
- How would you approach challenges that might come up in this role?
