First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Shionogi & Co..
Customer Success Manager
The interview process started with an initial phone screen with HR. They called more than 20 minutes after the appointed time and offered no apologies, which was the first bad sign. The interview lasted for barely 5 minutes, the second bad sign. They asked basic questions. After that, I never heard from them again.
- Could you describe your long-term career aspirations?
Medical Writer
I applied because a current employee recommended it. First, I had a phone screen with HR, and then an in-person interview pretty soon after. It was a really good, friendly, and quick interview with senior directors and VPs. They were nice enough to arrange a second interview with people I would be working with, even though it was a month later. HR stayed in touch weekly for the next six weeks, and then finally told me they weren't going to offer me the job.
- Tell me about a time you used the STAR method to answer a question.
Pharmaceutical Sales Representative
I was contacted by a company via LinkedIn after applying online. The whole process took about 2 weeks. First, I had a phone interview, and then a week later, I went in for an in-person interview. They asked a lot of STAR questions.
- What attracts you to the pharmaceutical industry?
Supplier Quality Manager
Started with a quick phone call with the hiring manager. Then, I was flown in for an in-person interview where I met with the hiring manager again, along with a coworker. After that, I had more interviews with the Quality Director and an HR person. The scheduling was a bit messy because everyone's travel schedules conflicted. It didn't seem like they had a strict plan for questions or a consistent way of interviewing everyone. The whole thing took less than a full day.
- What makes you want this job, considering it's a step down in both position and pay from where you are now?
