I talked with an internal recruiter for about 30 minutes first, and then spent an hour chatting with the hiring manager and another director in HR. After that, I was asked to proceed to the final round, which was set to be a one-hour panel interview. Before that final round, I was also asked to complete a 30-minute logic thinking exercise and a personality test. But then, less than a day before that final interview, a different recruiter reached out to inform me that the team was no longer interested in moving forward with my candidacy.

First, there was a phone screen with about 10 technical questions. Then, a video interview with the manager, which was pretty general. After that, I had a panel interview plus a presentation at the regional office with mostly senior technical people, though they did ask a couple easy customer service questions. Finally, I had another panel interview with a presentation at the corporate office in Columbia, MD, with product managers, and it was all technical questions. The whole thing took about 2 months, and they covered all travel and accommodations.

Started with a recruiter call, then a call with the hiring manager, and then an in-person interview. The initial calls were pretty broad but simple, mostly to see if I was worth flying out. The in-person part had multiple groups of interviewers. Each group looked at my skills a bit differently (theory, job knowledge, chemistry). Having small groups made it feel less scary; actually, it was fun by the end. They ask a lot of questions for several hours, but you also get plenty of time to ask your own questions. They want to know if you're as eager to join them as they are to hire you. This detailed process made me really want to accept their offer, which came about a week later.

Had one interview with HR in MD, which went well- lots of technical questions. Was contacted for a second interview with hiring manager in TX. Was told to expect about an hour interview. The TX manager spoke with me for about 30 minutes and would not let go of the fact that this job requires a lot of travel. I stated that I understood the requirements. He didn't ask me any technical questions. I hung up the phone knowing that I wouldn't be called again. Got the impression that it's a good ol' boys club and they are not going to hire a woman with a family for this job with travel.
