Sales BDM
The interview process has 2 rounds. Questions are usually about your resume, and are behavioral. The first round is a general meeting with your direct manager and regional manager. The second round is with the Sales Director and Partnerships Manager. They are primarily looking for cultural fit.
- Tell me about your industry experience.
- What are your strengths?
- What are your weaknesses?
Data Engineer
So first there was an HR pre-screening call. Then an online test with coding and ML theory questions, plus 2 DSA questions in python. After that, a technical interview with two data scientists, which included an algorithm question and a case study. Finally, an interview with the team lead where we discussed my past experience, and there were also technical rounds with python problems and a case study.

Data Scientist
A recruiter contacted me shortly after I applied. The interview process was pretty simple. First, I had a chat with a recruiter about general company, team, and technical stuff. Then, it was either a one-hour online technical interview or a take-home assignment, which was nice to have a choice. After that, I interviewed with the hiring manager about my background. Finally, I had a virtual onsite with some senior data scientists and business people. Everyone was really friendly and approachable. My recruiter was super responsive and helpful, especially since I interviewed during the holidays. I really appreciated how quickly things moved and how well they communicated.
- Can you tell me about your past experience and projects?
- Do you have any general behavioral questions for me?
Software Engineer
The recruiter reached out about the job, and I set up a call for the initial phone screen. After that, I had a chat with the engineering manager, followed by three technical interviews as part of the virtual on-site. The people I interviewed with were really nice. The recruiter contacted me the day after the virtual on-site, saying they wanted to move forward because the feedback was good. During the call, the recruiter mentioned compensation that was lower than we'd agreed on. He promised to fix it and wanted me to speak with the CTO the next day. I followed up because I hadn't heard back and was told I'd get an update soon (they were apparently still scheduling). I decided to pull out of the process after not hearing from Shift for over a week.
