I had a phone interview with HR. The person interviewing me was condescending and sounded bored. They seemed to have a quota to fill and maybe already decided not to hire me. They brought up my lack of experience twice, which was weird because they could see it on my resume and I was applying for an internship. They asked why I wanted to work at Shift Communications and then rephrased it to ask why I wanted to work at a PR agency. Overall, I wish it had gone better and I could have made it to the in-person interview. On the plus side, it was short and the questions weren't too hard. I'd recommend it but don't get your hopes up.

The interview process was okay, though I spent three weeks playing phone tag with a senior associate, which was agonizing. Shift is a very busy firm, and they might be trying to hire too many people at once depending on the location. I'd suggest they slow down a bit to cut down on turnover. It's a great company to join if you're looking to get into the market, though. They seem to do telephone interviews first, and if they do call you back, you might get asked for an in-person interview. I actually got a request for an in-person interview but never got called back for the specific date. After that, I moved on and got a job somewhere else. Later, I heard Shift actually laid off a few people months after my interview attempt.

I applied and got a call from HR for a screening, then went for an in-person interview. HR said the manager liked me but wanted someone more senior, like an Account Executive, which was confusing since the job was for an Account Coordinator. HR reached out again a couple of months later about another Account Coordinator opening. I said yes but didn't hear back until I followed up months later. Then I had another in-person interview with two team members who seemed really uninterested. I never heard back after that.

I applied online and HR reached out for a phone screening in three days. Then, I was invited to their San Francisco office for an interview with an Account Coordinator. The whole process was really nice, the directors seemed genuinely interested in getting to know me, which I appreciated. After the interview, I had to do a standard online writing test.
