First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sherritt.
Lean Specialist
It was a panel interview with 3 people: 1 HR rep, 1 CI Manager, and 1 Analyst. They asked about my work history and touched on abstract topics, focusing a lot on Lean Six Sigma (LSS). I noticed the department is "led" by HR and "managed" by someone who used to work for the government and has no relevant industry experience.
- How would you integrate into our organization?
Process Engineer
1hr interview with four people: a member from HR, the process engineering lead, the engineering manager, and a junior process engineer (to relate to). They took turns asking mostly the typical HR style/behavioral questions and one or two technical questions mainly looking for examples of working with P&ID's and control systems.
- Can you tell me about your activities between graduation and now?
Engineer
I applied for the job and then did a bunch of prep work like reaching out to former employees, researching the company and the interviewers, and gathering relevant stories from my career. This took about 5-6 hours in total. The interview itself went well, we had a good rapport, I answered everything, and asked some questions I prepared. After the interview, I tried to follow up with HR a week later and again two weeks later by phone, but I got no response at all. I was ghosted without even a rejection, which is really disappointing and a waste of my time.
- How is my previous experience applicable to this role?
Laboratory Technician
Sent documents and screening based on your resume to ask questions about the job you're applying for and the activities involved. We'll also ask if you're open to ongoing intellectual development and what your salary expectations are for the role.
- Can you describe your educational background and previous employment history?
- What makes you a suitable candidate for the position?
- Are you interested in continuing your professional and intellectual growth?
