Communication Manager
The hiring was handled by an external agency. Started with a typical call with the consultant. Then, a video presentation to the director and consultant about the communication plan vision. Followed by an intermediate meeting with the director and consultant, and finally, an interview with the committee.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Project Manager
I had a really good talk about what the company expects, the skills needed, and other important stuff not in the job description. It was all very professional and right on time. I got feedback right away. Everyone I talked to was super nice and helpful.
- What are your long-term career aspirations over the next five years?
Senior Recruiter
A Sherpa sourcer reached out on LinkedIn. He was very professional & sold Sherpa well. After a couple of phone conversations, they invited me in for 2 in-person interviews & ended up meeting with numerous team members. They then called me back for a final interview to meet with another leader who was away on vacation during my first two trips into the office. The director was a bit odd & very socially awkward, but he's been there 15 years, so he must do something right. The Sr VP told me she would be in touch later that week. Only to email 12 days later that she had been out of the office and apologized for being so "scatter brained." Initially the treatment was great. After not feeling wanted as a member of the team or culture, I determined Sherpa is not the right place for me. After doing some further research on Sherpa, they are very misleading about their footprint in the market. The intel I was given was they are struggling in Charlotte & working diligently to expand into other regions. Also, they will call references prior to asking or telling you. Burned me internally at my current organization.
- What are your thoughts on our office space?
- Do you find it enjoyable here?
HR Associate
The recruiter went over my background and training, who I've worked for, my salary range expectations (for pitching purposes), prior workloads, and who I'm currently interviewing with/pursuing. The recruiter also talked about the current job market and how my skills and experience match up against what I'm looking for. They mentioned that they didn't have anything right now and that the market is bearing a lot of lower-level positions versus higher-level.
- Can you tell me about your background?
- What's your minimum salary expectation? I need to know your cutoff so you aren't asking why I brought you this position because it doesn't pay enough.
