The interview was held on-site with the program director. It consisted mostly of basic questions, followed by a written response at the end which was a scenario question asking what I would do in a specific situation. It was a single interview that lasted about 30 minutes.

I applied internally for a position in the day hospital. My first interview was online, and after that went well, I was invited for an in-person visit. That also seemed to go well, and they said they'd let me know in a couple of weeks. Unfortunately, they got back to me saying they couldn't hire me due to my licensure level, explaining they were understaffed and lacked clinical supervisors for my position. It was pretty frustrating since I felt my time was wasted with the long interview process. This whole experience was pretty typical of what I've encountered at Sheppard Pratt – disorganized and not very considerate of employees.

The interview process was acceptable. Because the company has a sizable HR department, it can take some time for them to get back to you regarding an offer. However, once an offer is extended, the hiring process moves very quickly. The initial class orientation was satisfactory.

Even though I didn't get the job I was applying for, interviewing with Sheppard Pratt was one of the best interview-experiences I've ever had. I had an HR screening call, a phone interview with two members of the marketing department, an in-person meeting with the same people, and an in-person interview with the rest of their marketing team. Every step of the way I was treated with total respect. People were kind, well-prepared, and listened when I was answering which helped to create a real dialogue and give me a strong sense of what being a part of their team would look like. What I found most interesting was that they started in-person interviews by asking if I had any questions for them since we'd talked last. It showed a real sense of partnership and balance of power between interviewer and interviewee. While I'm sad to have not been picked, I'd absolutely recommend trying to work here.
