I sent in my application online and then I was asked to interview with the search committee over Zoom. The committee had five members, and weirdly, one of them was the person currently in the role I was applying for, and they even mentioned during the interview that they were leaving the university. It's pretty unusual, to say the least, that the committee would include the person the new hire is supposed to replace.

The interview process was really smooth and the people were professional. I had two interviews total, one was done online and the other one was on campus. They gave me a topic and I had to do a teaching demonstration in front of one of the classes. After the demo, I got some feedback from the students.

The interview process is about six hours long. It includes giving a lecture to staff, meeting with the Dean, VP, and chair of the department. After the interviews, they take you out to dinner. They seem very serious about hiring you if they decide to interview you. However, they tend to make the job seem easier than it actually is. They are not very helpful once you're hired, but they are helpful during the interview process.

The faculty and staff are really friendly and make you feel welcome. They want to get to know you personally and understand your academic goals. The interview and hiring process is a bit casual, and the faculty are upfront about the demanding schedule and salary. I definitely recommend applying for a position here.
