Marketing Leader
I left this interview experience very, very, very hurt. They chased me and reinforced their interest over and over, accelerated the process, basically told me I was getting hired. They said they prided themselves on hiring good people and being kind, that I would be an amazing addition to the team…and then…crickets. It emotionally destroyed me after the whiplash. I was so disappointed and took a break from job hunting. Mind you, I've spoken to 100+ companies in five years. Their feedback was a bunch of BS. They lied through their teeth after dragging me for weeks. Told me they filled it, then had leadership post it the same day.
- Can you share your background and experience in various marketing areas?
- What is your experience with cross-functional support?
Account Executive
I had an hour-long initial call with the hiring manager (VP of Sales). Then I had a 30-minute call with the Head of Solution Consulting. They thought my experience was a good fit but later that day I was told I wasn't considered a fit. The Head of Solution Consulting kept their camera off for most of the conversation, which was unprofessional. Don't expect honest or direct feedback.
- Can you describe your customer base?
Customer Success Manager
I had a loop with 6 people from different teams. I was given their names, roles, and LinkedIn profiles beforehand. The process included a mock executive business review, and I was given the chance to ask questions ahead of time via email or phone with the recruiter and hiring manager. The recruiter, Lex, was very communicative throughout the process, showing empathy, organization, and thoroughness, which really stood out. I also had consistent outreach and chances to ask the hiring manager questions.
- What is your definition of a Customer Success Manager's role?
Product Support Specialist
I interviewed with 6 people, and had 5 different interviews in total over a period of less than 2 months. This felt unnecessary and arbitrary for an entry-level role with low pay, wasting my time and effort, only to send a delayed rejection letter. I feel a company clear on their hiring needs could have finished this in 2 weeks and 4 interviews maximum. I rarely got updates when they said they would, and I'm disappointed with how this process was handled. On the bright side, I met some great, friendly people, and if the interview process and response time were better, I think it would be a fine place to work.
