- What made you apply for this position?
Medical Coder
First they'll do an initial interview where you say that as a medical pro, you want to be profiled for their MCA (medical coding academy) profile. Nurses are prioritized, but medical allied grads are welcome too! Then there are 2 assessments with a required passing score of 80% minimum, covering anaphysio/medical terms/some coding rules. The final interview checks your knowledge on disease processes and coding guidelines, and if you are familiar with any.
- Can you explain what sepsis is, including its disease process and management?
Associate
I had a good time interviewing with Shearwater. The HR team was really helpful and answered my questions quickly. After talking with HR, I met with the hiring manager. They made me feel comfortable during the interview. Part of the interview was reading a scenario to test my analytical and problem-solving skills. This was cool because I could show how I think. The whole process showed me Shearwater's culture - they communicate clearly, are respectful, and professional. Everyone was nice and knew their stuff. The process was organized, respected my time, and tested my skills. It made me want to work there.
- What would prompt you to leave your current employer?
- Can you describe your approach to handling feedback?
Virtual Assistant
I had my first interview scheduled, but after I sent them some of the requirements, they stopped contacting me. I've accepted that I didn't pass, but I wish I could have gotten some explanation.
- What are some normal interview questions you can ask?
- How will you be able to travel to our location?
- What kind of work setup are you looking for?
