First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Shaw Industries.
Software Engineer
I first encountered them at the College Career Fair, gave them my resume and phone number. They texted me a few hours later to set up an interview for the next day. The actual interview was pretty casual, even though I wore a suit. They only asked for my resume and talked a lot about team building situations. It was really simple, maybe later interviews are harder, but they never contacted me after that.
- What team building situations have you been a part of?
Software Engineer
I was contacted by an internal recruiter to schedule a phone screen. She was 15 minutes late, so I had already left the meeting. I attempted to call her directly, but she was unavailable. She eventually got back in touch over a week later. The interview consisted of standard questions about my background, only to discover that their salary range is about 15k below average. I don't think they're serious about attracting top talent.
- Can you explain your reason for leaving your previous position?
Software Engineer Intern
A recruiter reached out to schedule an initial interview with me. This first interview was a 10 minute phone call that I'd call a “vibe-check”. After that a second interview was scheduled. This second interview was the typical STAR question style of interviewing.
- Can you tell me about a time you faced a problem?
