I had a pretty bad time interviewing with SharpenCX. It felt like they didn't really want me there, and they seemed unprepared. A few times, the interviewer even passed off parts of the interview to someone else, which felt unprofessional. I never heard back after the interviews, which was frustrating and made the whole hiring process seem disorganized and like they didn't respect my time. SharpenCX could definitely improve by making sure interviewers are ready and by communicating with candidates, win or lose.

The interview process was really smooth. Started with a quick informal phone screen, then went straight into two 1-hour onsite technical interviews, both focused on coding. They did those back-to-back. After that, there was one final interview with HR.

The whole process was awesome. Very straight forward with caring and passionate people. The process lasted about 3 weeks, however, it probably could have been shorter as they were accommodating my schedule as best they could (which not a lot of companies do). The team members I interviewed with took the time to share with me the culture of individuals I would be working alongside, as well as laid out the path they envisioned for me. They let me explain my goals and where I wanted to be, and shared how they could help me get there. A unique aspect of Sharpen, the final interview was a roundtable discussion with various individuals, which makes you feel a part of the company and the collaboration process. It also gives you an understanding of what the culture and individuals at the company are like.

I had applied about a year prior, but they weren't ready to hire a full-time recruiter then, so they said they'd keep me in mind. I was impressed when they actually called me back when they were ready. I had a phone interview with the HR director, where I mostly discussed my background and qualifications, and employment logistics. About a week later, I went to the office for an interview that was supposed to be 45 minutes but ran over an hour, during which my questions were answered. Two weeks after that, they called for references and made a verbal offer. About four days after my references were checked, I received the official offer letter. I was set to start three weeks after signing.
