First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sharp Memorial Hospital.
Registered Nurse
It was a panel interview with several questions. Three people were on the panel, and they were all really nice and easy to talk to. The questions weren't very clinical, more about how you act in a work environment.
- What are your strategies for dealing with burnout at work?
- Tell me about a time you made a mistake.
Nursing Assistant
I applied for the nursing assistant role back in April, and ended up getting hired in July. The whole interview and hiring process took about a month. It was a pretty smooth experience. Everyone I interacted with was helpful, nice, and really welcoming. Honestly, it seems like a great company to work for!
- Can you describe a time you had a communication issue with a coworker and how you dealt with it?
- What makes you want to work for Sharp specifically?
- What would you say is your biggest strength?
Volunteer
So basically you first fill out some basic questions online. Then they send you an email to sign up for an orientation. The orientation lasted a few hours and it was like a big powerpoint, and they made us memorize a bunch of lists of values because they quiz you on them later. Then we did some team building group stuff. After that, you have to do 2 back to back TB tests and then have a one-on-one interview before they offer you the position.
- Can you list five of Sharp Memorial's core values?
Clinical Lab Scientist
I applied online on the company website and they got back to me pretty fast. They didn't do a phone interview, which was interesting since I live about an hour away. Instead, I got an in-person interview with two managers scheduled within two weeks. They were cool about working around my schedule to set it up.
- Can you tell me about your areas of technical expertise?
