Roughly 2 rounds before I spoke with the hiring manager. The interviews didn't really cover what the job description said. The JD wanted ISO 27001 and SOC experience, but those topics were mostly ignored. A lot of the questions were about GDPR or Firewall/security config instead.

  • Can you tell me about your experience with GDPR?

It was a long process that took a lot of time and effort. First, I spoke with their internal recruitment team. Then, I had a 30-minute chat with the Head of the department I'd be joining and the Head of HR. They went over my CV and asked a bunch of questions about my experience. After that, I was invited to another interview where I had to put together a presentation for a real scenario they were working on and then answer some competency questions.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Can you discuss your experience relevant to this role and highlight the key aspects you're seeking?
  • Discuss your CV and experience related to the role and key things they were looking for.

You send in your resume and cover letter. Then, they'll look at applications to make a shortlist. This might include a quick call or video chat to see if you fit. After that, there's usually a first interview, which could be with one person or a group, about your background and skills for the job. It can be in person, phone, or video. For jobs like this, there's often a test or challenge to check your skills.
