First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Seva.
Esthetician
The services that are done the most are eyelash tabbing and eyebrow threading. A lot of Estheticians don't know how to thread but they will train you. The training last for one month. The pay starts out at $9/hr and then $10/hr after the first month. Commission is given when products are sold; 5% commission is given if you do a facial. The owner at the Irving location inside of Walmart told me that there are many individually owned franchises for this company. She said, 'I am new and also has never owned a business.' She also said, 'I have not developed people skills that well yet and every time I get upset it shows because blood rushes to my face.' The interview started with the owner wanting to see my eyelash tabbing skills. I showed her how I do lashes. She did not know how to do lashes, so she had another employee show me how they want them done. A lot of glue needs to be used so they won't fall out and they get less complaints now that they do it that way.
- How long would it take you to put on lashes on both eyes?
- Tell me about your relationship with your previous employer.
- How would you handle an unhappy customer?
Director
I went through a series of interviews, including one-on-ones and a skills test. It was a really good experience, and it helped me get a clear understanding of the company's vision, what the job entails, and their standard operating procedures. I also had the chance to meet the management team and learn about their core values, which made it easier to connect with the company.
- Can you share some insights into your personality?
- Could you detail your educational background?
- Please elaborate on your previous job experience.
Esthetician
It was easy, the people were nice and the questions were simple. I had to do a brow wax and a mock facial. I was told to bring a model. For the mock facial, I had to explain how I was taught and show them my movements. They then explained the whole idea behind the spa and offered me a job.
- What is more important to you: Honesty, loyalty, or skill?
- What is your working relationship like with managers?
- Do you have a license?
Wax Specialist
The interview experience was really unprofessional. They interrupted the interview to wax a client, and then again to use the restroom. After I waited for 20-30 minutes, they finally continued the interview. The interviewer was really rude and demeaning. I would not recommend this place.
- Can you do brazilian waxes?
