First, you'll come into the office for an aptitude test. If you pass, you'll schedule an in-person interview for a later date. On the day of the interview, be ready to present your portfolio, focusing on data viz, icons, and dashboards. They're also evaluating your cultural fit – if you're too politically correct or serious, it might be a dealbreaker. Honestly, fitting in seems more important than your portfolio. After the interview, you'll meet the UI/UX team and others you'll work with. They'll get back to you in about a week, depending on how urgently they need a designer.

When I first got there, the employees were nice and helped me get set up. The planning wasn't great though, as they rescheduled and canceled interviews more than once, sometimes only 30 minutes before they were supposed to start. After the scheduling issues were sorted out, the rest of the interview process went well.

I applied for a sales role and got an email from HR to set up an interview at their Irvine, CA office. When I got there, the local manager was waiting for me, even though she hadn't seen my resume. She glanced at it and told me I needed to take their IQ and personality tests. She mentioned that if I did well, I'd be invited back to interview with her, the owner, and someone from corporate. Within a few days, I got an email from HR saying I was no longer being considered.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • What are your thoughts on being called into the office for IQ and personality tests instead of an actual interview?
  • Why weren't these tests administered online, allowing applicants to complete them from home?

First up is a quick phone chat. After that, you'll do a skills test and a personality profile test. Then, you have your in-person interview. The last step is an interview with the senior management. If you get through all of that, you're hired!
