There were 4 steps in the interview process. First, a recruiter phone screening, which was nice. They were helpful with advice and prepping me for later interviews. Then, I met with the Manager/Team Lead for about 30 minutes, which was also nice. Over the next week, I had 4 more 30-minute interviews with potential colleagues, depending on schedules. After that, there was supposed to be another interview where I'd have to prepare a presentation. I didn't get to that stage because they picked someone else. Overall, it was a really good experience, and I was hopeful about getting the job.

The whole process took about a month, and it was all video calls. It started with a recruiter call from Mastercard, then I spoke with three people from the team: the Director, a Tech Member, and the Hiring Manager. The Hiring Manager had only been at the company for two weeks and didn't really know the job or even read the job description. He asked questions that seemed random and more related to his past job, which I thought was pretty unprofessional.

I applied online twice and heard back after over a month. The recruiter was great until the interview was set up, then totally ghosted me. They mentioned wanting feedback on the interview process, but it felt like they weren't serious because the recruiter never met me in person when I was there and didn't reach out afterward or give any updates. The interviewers seemed unprepared for senior candidates, and some lacked the experience to really assess skills. It felt like they already had a specific answer in mind and were just looking for that. I wouldn't have asked those kinds of questions to someone senior.

The hiring process here is fast, which is great. The company understands that if you take too long between interviewing candidates, they might accept another offer. They have a good process, and I think companies that adopt this will succeed, while others might end up with tired HR staff and unenthusiastic candidates who don't feel valued. Shout out to the HR manager for being quick and responsive; feedback comes right after interviews. It's all clear, open, and straightforward. Good luck to them. The employees seem engaged and friendly, making a good impression.
