The interview process was very effective and thorough. It featured many employees and managers from Service Express. During the process, they asked questions to see if I was a good fit for their company culture and about my previous job experiences. The entire process lasted an hour and a half and gave a full perspective on the culture and where I could fit in. I was greeted with smiles from the beginning to the end, which made it less stressful and robotic. They really want to get to know you!

The interview process has 6 stages, which are laid out on the SEI website. It's rare to see such openness, but SEI made the typically opaque job application process clear. The phone interviews were useful for getting detailed info about the job, so I could better shape my questions and answers for the in-person meeting with the hiring managers. When I came to the office, my time was valued as I met with three people: the position lead, a manager, and a director. The next step is a ride-along with someone currently in the role, if possible. This was a great opportunity to ask about the day-to-day, company culture, team dynamics, career growth, and share 'how did you hear about SEI' stories. They followed up quickly after each stage, and I finished the whole thing in just over a week. The company's proactive approach gave me a lot of confidence and let me concentrate fully on the position and the interview.

The first phone interview was pretty standard, asking about my past jobs, background, hobbies, and sales comfort level. It moved fast to the next 'in-person' stage, which was a Zoom meeting. This interview was brief, about 30 minutes, and covered similar questions but with more detail on the daily tasks of an SDR, which mostly involves being on the phone for hours. It's definitely a sales-focused role. I felt it went well, with positive feedback from both sides, but surprisingly I got a rejection notice just two hours later, even though they said they'd do a deeper evaluation. No feedback was given, which made me wonder if they already had other candidates or weren't truly interested from the start. If spending all day making sales calls appeals to you, this could be it. For an entry-level, commission-based job, it was unclear what they were looking for in a candidate. The interviewers were pleasant, but the whole thing felt rushed and constrained. I wish it had been more informative about the specific candidate requirements for the job. What exactly is needed to secure sales meetings through calls? Still no feedback, which is odd.
