First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Service Alternatives.
Administrative Assistant
This was a new position to the agency. Very detailed in the job description and great standard questions (some of them scenario based). The panel of 2 was very welcoming and friendly and made the process easy. After the questions there were 4 brief skills test, email, proofing, excel, payroll.
- How would you prioritize competing priorities?
- What strategies do you use to stay organized?
Behavioral Intervention and Support Specialist
After applying online and receiving an email with the application, I faxed in my interview details. Then, I set up an in-person interview at a coffee shop. I met with the program manager and a supervisor there. We talked about the types of clients and they asked questions about my experience. It was a fairly casual experience. I also had worked with several of the clients before and already had worked this position at another company. Not sure how much of a factor that was.
- What motivates you to work with youth?
- Can you tell me about your experience working with clients?
- What is your experience in this type of role?
Independent Living Specialist
You apply and are given a group interview where a selection of managers and shift leaders interview prospective employees. You are also told how the company works, their expectations, and are given a simple test. If you pass you are interviewed. If hired you receive an email on when to attend orientation.
- Can you describe a challenging situation you faced in a prior role and explain how you managed it?
Employment Specialist
The process was fast and efficient. They really wanted to see if I was passionate about helping people, especially those with disabilities. The interview felt very straightforward, and the questions they asked were reasonable and fair.
- How would you handle a situation where a client is not following the terms and conditions, is angry, and has not yet found employment?
