I arrived and HR was there, but the Hiring Manager was late. Not a big deal, but I was surprised. I was also surprised by the "look" of the place inside – names of departments taped to the doors, dirty carpets, and an elevator that jolted like it might get stuck. It was a very unclean place. I was disappointed because I'm from corporate America, so my expectations were different. I don't think I could work in that environment for 8 hours a day; call me a "neat freak," but I need to be happy in my surroundings daily.

The interview process was pretty chill. They want you to be real about yourself and why you wanna work with DD or people with severe mental illness. There were 2 interviews before they hired me. They asked a bunch of 'what would you do in ___ situation' questions. They also went over the full-time benefits and 401k plan, mentioned a month-long paid training, and talked about what a normal day on-site at SERV would be like. They also asked what I knew about SERV and what it stands for.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The interview process was really long and informative. You'll probably talk to two people, who were coordinators in my case. First, they'll ask you to talk about yourself. Then, they'll ask about your background and why you want this job. They'll go over all the details of the job and what it involves. After that, they'll give you some scenarios to see how you'd handle them. The interview lasted about two hours, mostly because they shared a lot of information. I did get a second interview.

The interview process itself was alright, it took a few days. The questions management asked were also fine. The hiring process is super long with 3 weeks of training. I can honestly say it prepared me for interviewing people, once I was hired as a manager I started to do interviews with my Coordinator and other managers which I think is really beneficial to the company because managers know who they would like to hire for their houses.
