First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Serena & Lily.
Design Shop Associate
First I had a phone interview with a recruiter, then I went in person to the store to interview with the manager, then I had a zoom interview with someone from headquarters, then another zoom interview with HR. I didn't hear anything after that, even when I emailed them asking.
- Why are you particularly interested in this brand?
Design Consultant
The interview process was super casual, almost too much so, to the point it felt unprofessional. They expected me to basically run the interview and pitch them, but without giving me any real info about the company or the job itself. It might have been intentional, but it just seemed like they weren't really interested or prepared. They had me come in for multiple interviews over a few weeks and then just went silent. I'm guessing they hired someone else, but it was a huge waste of my time and really rude not to even let me know I didn't get the job or respond when I asked for updates.
- Had you been to our showroom before?
- What motivated you to apply for this position?
Designer
I chatted with the recruiter first, then I had an in-person meeting with the manager. Both interviews were good but I decided to withdraw my application because the job wasn't really what I was looking for. It's a great company though!
- Can you share some about your background and what makes you interested in joining Serena and Lily?
Photo Image Producer
I first had a phone call, and then a week later a zoom interview with the manager. The interview was mostly the manager talking for about an hour, and I could barely speak. The job itself isn't difficult and I could have done it perfectly because I have prior industry experience. But because I didn't get to speak much, the interviewer probably doesn't remember me. The worst part is, as others have said, they ghosted. The interviewer said it would take a couple of weeks, which is strange if they're actively trying to hire someone and not just interviewing indefinitely. They even relisted the job. I tried to contact them, but they haven't replied or even seen my message. So, it's really unprofessional, and I wouldn't recommend wasting your time interviewing with them.
- Can you tell me about your background?
