First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sentry Equipment.
Technician
I went through 3 interviews: first a phone screen with HR, then a culture interview, and finally a technical interview. All of them were pretty laid back and mostly checked my communication skills, outgoing nature, and general workplace judgment and abilities. The whole experience was really great, probably the best I've had with any company.
- Can you share an instance where you had to make a compromise to ensure a customer's satisfaction?
Digital Marketing Specialist
Applied online and got a call the next morning. Had one phone interview/screen. They were nice enough to split what would have been a 3-hour interview with multiple people into two separate interviews outside of our work schedules. The interview process included a culture interview that was 100% behavioral questions, which was probably more effort than the skills interview, a more relaxed conversational talk about skill sets. Everyone was passionate, smart, hardworking, and nice. Communication was amazing throughout, never left wondering about the process status.
- Can you share an instance where a decision you made for the group's benefit had a negative personal outcome for you?
HR Generalist
Applied online and then got a call for a quick phone interview with HR. Then I went in for a culture and skills interview, they were really flexible with my schedule. The culture interview was mostly behavioral questions, and everyone was super chill and nice. After that, I met with the hiring manager and President for the skills interview, which was detailed but not too stressful. They made me an offer within a few days, and they were always quick to respond.
- What's your reaction when a colleague disagrees with your work methods?
Engineering Manager
It was a culture-focused interview, prioritizing character. I first met with a cross-functional team who asked competency-based questions. After that, I met my future manager and peers. The whole process had a few rounds, which made me feel good about how they protect their culture.
- Can you share a recent business decision you'd change if you could?
