The interview process was really comfortable and not intimidating at all. It felt more like a conversation during both interviews, which was nice. I had two phone interviews, and then the final call was the verbal offer.

About a week after I applied, Sentral's People Team emailed me about setting up my first interview. It was a Zoom call, and it went pretty well. We just chatted about the job, the hours, and the shifts. They said they'd contact me in a few days for the second interview, but it actually took over a week for them to reach out. I did send them an email asking for an update a few days after the first interview, and they replied the next day. The second interview also went great. They told me they wanted to offer me the job but would get back to me. The hiring manager never actually got back to me, though. I messaged them a week after the interview asking about the position, but still no response. A friend who works there and referred me even asked when I was starting. When I told her they hadn't gotten back to me, she was surprised because they had told her they were going to offer me the job. I found out through my friend that the job was supposed to go to someone they were planning to fire, but HR then said they couldn't fire that person. The whole process took about three weeks. It was pretty disappointing because I never heard back, and I had turned down other job offers because I was so eager to work for Sentral. I can't say much about the company itself, but my friend speaks very highly of it. I was even willing to take the overnight shift hoping to move to mornings later, since that job listing was still up. It's a real bummer.

I had two zoom interviews and then toured the property. I was really excited about the company and the property they managed. I thought for sure I had the job because they had me tour the property. After following up three times, I finally got a rejection. Since I thought they were so innovative, I wrote back expressing my continued interest and asking what I could do or work on in the future to get hired by Sentral. I haven't heard back.

The interview was not very formal. I felt dismissed and looked down upon as a person of color. I am qualified for the job, but I don't think this company is diverse at all. The interviewer was not warm or welcoming. I could tell it was going to be a race issue before we started based on her expression. Don't waste your time if you are a person of color.
