Sales Development Representative
There were five interviews total: the first one was with the hiring manager, the second one with the SDR lead, the third and fourth with Account Executives, and the fifth with the CRO. All the interviews were pretty straightforward and casual. Everyone was very nice and welcoming during the interviews. I had opportunities to ask questions and get to know more about the role, product, company, and sales team during the interviews.
- Can you tell me about yourself and your background?
- What draws you to a career in sales?
- Could you describe your previous sales experience?
Sales Development Representative
It was two 15-min phone calls. First was a general chat about why I wanted to join a startup and my knowledge of capital markets. Then I got a week-long trial of the platform. Second call was with the same person, focused on my time using the platform and digging into my sales experience. They mentioned an on-site later that day, and I got the invite. The on-site started with the same person, and we talked about my resume, Sentieo, competitors, and my plans. Then I met someone in the same role for their perspective. Finally, I spoke with the VP of sales and the head of enterprise sales. The whole thing was fast and clear. They were upfront that it's a bootstrapped startup and not a place to slack off, which is what I wanted.
- What is your understanding of capital markets?
- How has your past experience prepared you for this position?
- What inspired you to apply for Sentieo?
Sales Development Representative
Had a quick 15-20 min phone screening first, then went onsite and spoke with three different people. It was the sales manager, customer success manager, and an AE. They were all super nice and made me feel comfortable. I really liked the whole process, it was well-organized and moved fast. I told them I was relocating and leaving my job, and they were great about not wasting any time. They were really clear about what they needed and what the startup life would be like for me. It was cool talking to an AE too, that part didn't even feel like an interview, more like we were just getting to know each other. It was a nice change of pace and made it easier to decide when I had other offers.
- What motivates you to want to work for a startup?
- Can you walk me through your previous experience and tell me a bit about yourself?
- Describe how you would collaborate effectively with the team.
