The hiring manager didn't even look at my resume and was surprised by my current job's work. The interviewer focused on joysticks and pedals, only understanding shafts and their uses. 9 out of 10 questions were about shafts, nothing about general mechanical design. He seemed to think he was smart but couldn't answer basic mechanical design questions. It felt like a waste of my time and their resources to bring me onsite without reviewing my resume. They do value 'technical aptitude,' but it's limited to their specific field; the interviewer didn't know ABAQUS even though he uses other simulation software.

I found out about Sensata at my school's career fair, and they immediately started asking me technical questions there. Later, I got a call and scheduled a 30-minute phone interview. This interview was with an engineer who mainly asked me about my resume and then let me ask him questions. Make sure you have questions ready! A few days after that, I was invited to Sensata's 'fantastic Friday' event, which included 1 HR interview and 3 technical interviews.
