Sensata Technologies Electrical Engineer Interview Questions
& Process

I had a 45-minute phone interview with a VP who has an MSEE. He asked me a lot of electrical engineering questions. I didn't know much about Sensata then, but I liked how comprehensive the questions were. The on-site had an HR interview and then three engineer interviews. The same VP interviewed me again. He had a list of around 30 questions he wanted to go through. He was unhappy we only got through about 10. I thought I did well on the phone screen, but he wanted to test my knowledge more. I felt the questions weren't that relevant for a company making MEMS sensors. The interview room was in a large area with cubicles for laid-off engineers. The other two engineer interviews were good, but I think the VP's negative impression of my on-site interview is why I didn't get an offer.

There were three rounds to this interview process. The first interview was a screening that took place at a career fair at my college. The second interview was an in-person screening at my college about a week after the career fair. The third interview was a 3 hour total interview that included 3 technical interviews, 1 HR interview, and a tour of the campus. I thought this was a fairly fair interview process for the position.

It was an on-campus hiring process. The interview was pretty straightforward, mainly basic electronics questions. The interviewer reviewed some of the projects on my resume and then asked me fundamental questions about electronics. Specifically, I was asked to explain what a low pass filter is, and then there were questions regarding BJT and forward biased diode characteristics, as well as the difference between BJT and FET.
