Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sendik's.
Cashier
I applied online and then got a call to schedule an interview. The person interviewing me was super nice and didn't mind that I stumbled over my words sometimes. I haven't heard back yet, but it was a good experience overall and I would have liked to get the job.
- What makes you want to work for Sendiks?
- How would you describe the meaning of teamwork?
- Can you tell me about your availability?
Cashier
I sent in my application online. A few days later, Sendik’s HR texted me to schedule a phone interview. The person who did the phone interview was really nice. After the phone interview, they set up an in-person interview with a manager for the next day at a store near me. The in-person interview was pretty chill, and they asked the usual interview questions. They talked about pay, and we figured out which store I wanted to train at because the store I applied for wasn't open yet. Then, they gave me the details for the new employee orientation at their main office.
- What are your available hours?
- What makes you want to be a part of the Sendik’s team?
- Can you describe your past work history?
Cashier
I applied online to be a cashier at the Franklin location. About ten days later, HR texted me about a job fair at the store, but I couldn't make it. So, they set up a phone interview for me instead. It was pretty straightforward, but they did ask some weird questions, like rating my desire to work there on a scale of 1 to 10. It went okay, and they booked me for an in-person interview a few days after. When I got to the store, the interviewer seemed totally unprepared, like he didn't even know I was coming. He spent like 4-5 minutes on his computer looking up my info from HR. He wanted to put me in bakery or deli and was bummed I couldn't work evenings since the job posting said the hours were 7 am to 3 pm. But, he did want to schedule me for orientation. I also saw two employee resignation forms on his desk, which was kinda funny during the interview.
- How have you assisted colleagues in your present employment?
- How much do you want to work at Sendiks, on a scale from 1 to 10?
