Executive Assistant
The interview process was pleasant and not overly drawn out or formal. The interviewers seemed happy with their jobs and many were long-term employees. It was a great experience meeting them, I felt challenged but not overly nervous.
- Tell me about a time you had to react under pressure.
- How do you handle situations where you need to pivot?
- Describe your approach to problem-solving.
HR Business Partner
I applied for an HRBP role but was contacted on LinkedIn by someone asking me to interview for Talent Acquisition Specialist. They proceeded to tell me to respond to three questions on LinkedIn if I wanted to interview. I thought the second one was odd since they were teaching out to me unsolicited. I then conducted a Zoom interview where it was asked what my T.A experience was and if this role met my career aspirations. The person then gave me the “we have other interviewers so we will be in touch” line. Two weeks later I get an automated rejection stating that they would not be proceeding forward.

Associate Consultant
I sent in my resume and heard back a few weeks later. First was a really short intro phone call, just to check if I was normal. They asked me to quickly go over my resume and say why I was applying. Then I had a 1-hour phone interview with a Sr. Consultant that was all behavioral, asking about my resume and using "Tell me about a time when..." questions. I had to talk about my leadership skills, excel abilities, strengths/weaknesses. Since it's a small firm, they care about personality, so I also had to talk about my hobbies. The final round was an in-person interview in LA, with a hotel paid for. It started at 8:30 AM and was pretty much non-stop. It included 4 behavioral interviews, each about an hour long, and a short excel case where I had 20 minutes to analyze data and then discuss my findings. The case was super simple, no need to worry about complex Excel functions. There was also a typical "walking through" case study, similar to Bain/McKinsey. I got about 15 minutes to look at the case material and come up with some initial findings before discussing it. The behavioral interviews varied; one interviewer focused on my academic research since they also studied economics, while another asked a lot about my personal life and passions. They want smart people, so do well on the cases, but they really prioritize cultural fit and learning ability. Be confident. I got the offer about 4 days later.
- Could you tell me why you think you're the right candidate for this position within three minutes?
Associate
The interview process had 2 rounds. The first round included a mix of behavioral/fit questions and some analytical questions. The second round was a super day. It consisted of an excel test, a business case brain teaser, a task analyzing executive compensation documents, and a behavioral interview.
- If you were considering buying a coffee shop, what information would you need from the owner?
