First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Seminole Electric.
Senior Director
The interview went pretty well. Seminole is a pretty well known company in the electrical industry and they are trying to better what they are doing though hiring more qualified people and being more prepared for the ever changing landscape within NERC.
- Is relocation an option for me?
Systems Coordinator
I went through 3 interviews for the Associate Systems Coordinator role. The first two were phone calls. The recruiter called first to ask about my background and education. Then, I had another phone call with a panel of interviewers who asked about my resume and my understanding of the job. The final interview was in person with a panel of managers and an HR representative. They asked similar questions to the phone interview and also about my general knowledge of the power industry. Since it's an operations role, I was advised to get familiar with NERC standards, not just general power theory.
- Can you explain what NERC is and its purpose?
Analyst
I applied online, and about a month later, I got an email to schedule an interview. I had a Microsoft Teams call with the hiring manager which went really well. After not hearing back for two weeks, I followed up with the recruiter, who mentioned they were still discussing and would update me. Unfortunately, I never heard back, so it seems like I didn't get the job, which is disappointing, especially since I wish they had communicated better. Other than the lack of follow-up, the interview experience itself was great.
- What motivates you to want to join this company?
- What is prompting your departure from your current position?
Administrative Specialist
It was pretty simple. First, I applied online. Then, I had a quick chat with the recruiter. After that, I went to their office for an onsite visit where I filled out more paperwork, did a personality test, and took a skills test. Then, there was a panel interview. Finally, the hiring manager called me with the job offer.
- Can you share examples of when you showed skills related to our company's core values?
- Tell me about times you demonstrated behaviors that match our core values.
- How have your skills aligned with our core values in past situations?
