It's quite extensive, many interviews with different people in different roles and locations are needed until you actually get to do the tests. The test is a questionnaire that you have to fill out in a specific time, and send it by email.

I started with a technical test at the office, which included algorithm questions, database and SQL questions, and general OOP questions. On the same day, there was a brief intro with the head of development. After that, I had two more interviews, one with a team lead and another with the head of development. Even though I received really positive feedback after each interview and my tests were good, I didn't get an offer. The recruitment firm told me that Selligent thought I was a promising candidate, but they were worried I wouldn't stay long because they've had ambitious people leave after a few years. This surprised me because I'd mentioned wanting to grow and evolve in my career. The recruiter said they weren't completely closing the door, but their lack of discussion during the interviews made me lose interest. The recruiter also mentioned I was the only candidate left and suggested I contact Selligent. I decided not to, as I felt concerns like these should have been raised during the interviews. I spent over 6 hours there. They never mentioned these concerns even in the last interview. The interview ended with them discussing how offers are usually accepted immediately, with some room for negotiation. After the recruiter's call, I emailed him about my surprise regarding Selligent's concerns, but got no response from either of them. It's a shame, as I would have appreciated a chance to get feedback to improve. If they had more respect for a "very promising candidate", we could have had a follow-up. I'm glad I found this out about their process. Even with a high offer, I would have declined after that weird experience.

The interview process with Selligent in May 2018 took about a month. It started with a recruiter call, followed by a phone interview with the hiring manager. Then, I was invited for an onsite interview where I met with four different team members. The interviews were pretty casual and conversational. I felt good about how they went and sent thank you notes to everyone, but I never heard back. After waiting a week and following up with HR, I got no response. I waited another week and sent another follow-up, still no response. They ghosted me, which was disappointing since I invested time in the process and traveled for the onsite. I value my time and would have appreciated at least an email letting me know I wasn't selected, but instead, I got nothing.

The process had three main parts: a phone call, an onsite visit, and an HR interview. The onsite involved a test and then a bunch of one-on-one chats with the team. It can take some time, but it's meant to make sure it's a good fit. The initial phone call and the HR chat were both about half an hour. Everyone on the team in Addison is pretty chill and easy to talk to. It feels like a startup vibe, even though it's from a bigger company.
