I applied and then got a call for a phone interview 3 days later. The HR person was really nice. They wanted to move me to a second interview, but the job was already filled before that could happen.

The phone interview went great. I have a second interview coming up with the hiring manager. She asked about what I like about my work and why I'm switching from fire protection to security, as I want to pivot my career into security. My previous experience with fire security systems was very slow and unengaging, and it didn't work out.

The interview process was great! The recruiter, Sarah, was excellent at communicating, providing directions for parking and building access, and preparing me for each stage. My initial interview with my potential supervisor was disappointing, but the HR manager offered a positive outlook on this potential career. The second in-person interview with a senior leader was fantastic; his personality, vision, and genuine interest in my background were impressive. It's a shame he won't be my direct manager, as he's someone I'd really want to learn from and develop under.
