It was a two-stage process and I felt it went really well. Everyone I spoke with was super friendly and seemed genuinely interested in talking to me. I appreciated how welcoming they were and how they asked about me personally, not just work stuff.

Behavioral

It was a pretty standard interview. I talked with two box office managers for about 45 minutes, and they asked typical interview questions. The reason this was a negative experience is that both managers promised they'd let me know either way within a week and would reach out even if I didn't get the job, as they don't want to be the type of company that ghost applicants. Three weeks later, they still haven't reached out at all, which was a complete lie. I get that not every company responds, but when they say they always do and then don't, it's a bad look.

Behavioral Technical

I had phone interviews with the CEO and VP of Fundraising. It was mostly a screening to see if my background and experience were a good fit for the role. The execs were really open about making sure I understood the position and what it entailed. They were pretty conversational. I was one of the first folks they talked to, and they mentioned they wanted to do a wider search for people with serious fundraising backgrounds.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

It started with a phone screening, and then I had an in-person interview the following week. The in-person interview lasted about 3 hours because I met with everyone involved in the position. They had a very thorough process, and each person asked their own set of questions and presented scenarios.
