First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SEGA.
QA Tester
The interview was about an hour and a half long. We talked about what quality assurance would look like for games and the best ways to handle concerns and bugs with games. Then, the interview covered the benefits and daily schedule of the job, and we finished with some general interview questions.
- What would you do if you filed a bug report and the developer couldn't reproduce it?
Senior QA Engineer
It was just two interviews total. The first was in person at their office with the director and a lead. Then there was another online interview, but the people interviewing didn't turn their cameras on.
- What are your thoughts on general production QA?
Quality Assurance Engineer
The process was short, with just one interview after completing an assignment. This was an in-person meeting with the manager and team lead, lasting about 40-60 minutes. The questions were easy, and the interviewers were very positive, not trying to trick me. It felt like they wanted to see if I would panic.
- Tell me about some of your favorite video games.
- Do you play any games made by SEGA?
