Localization Manager
So I put in about two months of work, went through four rounds of interviews with a bunch of people, and then they flew me in for a final in-person sit-down. It went great, everyone agreed I was a perfect fit, hitting all the marks on technical skills, people skills, and even fitting the company vibe. They made a verbal offer, and after showing I was keen, I took a few days to mull it over. Then I sent over a counter-offer. It went quiet for about a week. When I followed up, they said 'discussions are ongoing' but assured me I was the only candidate they were talking to. I felt the same way about them, you know, committed to the process. Weeks went by, and I just got these 'no news yet' updates every so often, maybe 2-3 messages in total. Finally, almost three weeks later, they emailed to say they decided to go with an internal person and changed the role title to 'Associate XXX'.
- What's your strategy for managing employee turnover?
- Can you share your experience working with the Japanese market?
- What approaches do you take to manage employees who are overloaded with work?
Editorial Assistant
The application was easy to follow and I got a response pretty quickly to schedule an initial phone interview. The recruiter was nice and sent an Excel sheet for an assessment, which I completed and sent back within 24 hours. Unfortunately, I never heard back from them after that, not even for a rejection. My follow-up emails were also ignored. I get that there were probably a lot of applicants, but after asking for an assessment, it feels a bit cold to not give any feedback, even just a rejection notice.

Project Manager
I applied online and heard back from SEGA about two months later. The email went to my spam folder. I spoke on the phone with the hiring manager and was then given a written and oral test in Japanese. I passed both phone and exercise screens. I went onsite and used the white board to explain my thought process. They wanted a more business side experience with UX research and data analytics. I feel like they could have done a better job describing this in the job description. I feel that if you put in a lot of time on a project for an interview and then travel to the office for an onsite, they should at least let you know within a few days if they want or don't want you. I had to pester the HR lady for weeks to find out if my application was still on the table. They need to be more organized in communication and also keeping the office clean.
- Can you describe a project workflow using the whiteboard?
Director
My interview started with the hiring manager offsite, who then gave me a tour of the office, which I thought was really nice. After that, I had a formal interview onsite. This involved video calls with the Product team and in-person meetings with various department heads and the CEO. I left the interview feeling really good about the company.
- Could you tell me about your relevant experience?
- What's your process for evaluating the requirements to integrate an SDK?
