First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SEEK Careers/Staffing.
Talent Specialist Assistant
First I met with the branch manager, then the regional manager, and finally I had a Skype call with the President. The interviews were pretty straightforward and relaxed. The President had his opinions about my answers, but we all have our reasons for our decisions. They had me complete all the onboarding paperwork and even gave me a start date. However, the training employee was out, so I waited for a new start date, and then heard nothing for over a week. I had to email the branch manager, and two days later they said they had a change of heart. It was so random; why give me a start date, have me fill out all the paperwork, and then suddenly change your mind? It was not professional at all.
- What are your five-year career goals?
Recruiter
The interview process is long and should be condensed into a panel interview. Expect to have at least 3-5 interviews, most with different individuals. (The team lead, the regional lead, the president, possibly more.) The president is really nice but extremely casual to the point of unprofessional. Joked about how his mom (CEO) fired and rehired him in the hiring interview as well as some other jokes that don’t vibe in 2024. Comments about women staying at home, how associates especially from the city are flaky, etc. Kind people all around but time consuming process and unprofessional leadership.
- Do you take your work home with you, and how do you balance work and professional life?
Office Assistant
They went over my past jobs and positions and duties, how long I worked with previous employers, and asked about professional work clothing and demeanor. Speed and accuracy are a plus, and they want to know about my ability to maintain confidentiality, good organizational skills, and necessary computer skills with various software and computers, as well as the Internet. Having a great attitude and positive personality is also a plus!
- In what ways did you contribute to the company?
Talent Specialist
Applied on a whim. Process took over 2 months. Started with a phone interview, then an in-person. Had two more phone interviews and a job shadow. After the job shadow, I was told someone else got the position but would be considered for others. Almost a month later, I was asked about another position and had 2 more interviews. Didn't get a call about not receiving an offer until the job was already posted.
