First, I had a phone call with HR to make sure I was a good fit for the company culture. Then, I interviewed with the hiring manager. The third interview was with a group of 6 people who I would be working with on the team. It took a few weeks between the second and third interview, so I was worried I didn't get the job before the team interview. The hiring process was really slow.

I applied online by sending my resume and cover letter. The interviewer contacted me to schedule a virtual interview because of COVID. It was a standard interview, and the interviewer asked about my background, experience, and interests.

The whole process was very thorough and left no stone unturned. I had a total of 4 encounters. I call them encounters because one or two of them felt more like a way for them to feel me out and get to know me rather than a formal interview. Some may feel like 4 interviews was a lot but I think that it allowed me to get to know the team before I even got hired. Which gave me the opportunity to decide if this was a group of people I could work with.

Getting hired at Seed Company took about 3 months. I talked with about 3 people, including someone from HR. While I wish it had been faster, I liked that they were really careful in checking me out before making me an offer.
