Customer Service Representative
First, you'll apply with your resume. If they like it, they'll call you for an interview, which could be on the phone, video, or in person. During the interview, they'll ask you about your background, skills, and how you'd fit in. You might have more interviews or meet other people on the team after that. Once they've talked to everyone, they'll decide who to offer the job to. If you get an offer, you can try to negotiate the terms before saying yes. Then, once you accept, you'll start the onboarding process.
- Can you introduce yourself?
Customer Service Representative
After applying, I got an email for a remote online interview. It was pretty relaxed with two managers. They asked competency-based questions, wanting examples of how I'd handle situations based on my past experiences. They talked a bit about the role but were really cagey about salary, just saying it depends on experience, which felt like a red flag. I didn't hear back by the date they gave, but about two weeks later, one of the interviewers emailed offering me the position if I was still interested. I think they might have gone with their first choice and then reached out to second choices like me when that didn't work out, which was disappointing and led me to decline because I'd already received another offer. The interview itself was friendly and easy, but the process let me down.
- Can you share an instance where you had to handle a really upset customer?
Customer Service Representative
I had an initial virtual video interview using an application called HireVue. In this interview, I was asked questions and had a minute to prepare my answers before being given 3 minutes to respond. There was no live person conducting the interview. I'm now waiting to hear back from a recruiter after completing this first virtual interview.
- Can you share a time you helped someone and describe your feelings afterward?
- Tell me about a recent experience where you had to listen and type simultaneously.
- What makes you interested in working for Sedgwick?
