First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Security Service Federal Credit Union.
Marketing Analyst
The interviews went well. The recruiter was nice, friendly, and clear about the process and expectations. I progressed to two one-on-one interviews that focused deeply on the role, understanding the business, and what's needed for success. However, the long delay (about a month) between interviews after the initial screening became frustrating.
- Can you tell me about your background in marketing analytics?
- Could you describe your experience building SQL pipelines for ETL, including how you accomplished it?
Software QA Tester
It started with a screening interview, and if I passed that, I was given a take-home assessment to complete within a day. Doing well on that led to the final interview. After the first interview, they actually adjusted the hourly rate because I lacked experience. Ultimately, I was told they liked me but wanted someone with more experience, and they weren't going to be the ones to give me that chance. It felt like a huge waste of my time and effort, especially since the rate change probably indicated they weren't going to hire me anyway. The constant feedback loop is really frustrating.
- Can you give a summary of your general background and experience?
- Describe your process for writing test cases.
- What would you say is your strongest skill in software quality assurance?
Call Center Representative
After I applied, I waited a few days and then got an email asking me to RSVP for their hiring event ASAP because spots fill up fast. When I got there, we started with a job overview, including where training and work would be (training is 5 weeks for inbound call center reps). Then we discussed pay, which depends on experience. After that, we filled out paperwork, including agreements for credit checks, background checks, and drug tests. Once all that was done, they took us back one by one for an interview that was pretty easy! The questions were mostly about past work experience.
- Can you share an instance where you got feedback and how it impacted you?
- How do you see your past roles preparing you for success here?
- Describe a situation where you proactively offered help to a customer.
Title Escrow Funder
The hiring process includes 3 interviews. First up is a phone chat with HR, then you meet with 2 managers, and the last interview is with the department director. All of these were pretty straightforward. It took them about a month to get back to me with a decision because they were still talking to other candidates. I was feeling pretty good after the interviews, thinking I nailed them, but then I got a super generic, automated email about their decision, which was a bummer.
- Could you describe a few scenarios and how you would handle them?
- Tell me about your past experiences.
- How would you approach a situation where you had to deal with X?
