First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Security Risk Advisors.
Senior Consultant
First, there was a phone screen with HR to check my interest, salary expectations, location, and general soft skills. Then, I had a technical interview with a manager over the phone. There might have been a written assignment too. Finally, it was an in-person meeting with either a senior manager or a director.
- What are your career aspirations for this next position?
Cyber Security Consultant
I applied online over the weekend and heard back on Monday. The role had been open since the beginning of the year, and since it was during quarantine, they were used to remote work. They gave me a week to complete a candidate exercise, which took about 15-20 hours of my evenings. After that, I had a phone interview. The HR screen involved them telling me about the company and asking about my background, history, and salary expectations. Then, I had a technical screen where they asked many technical questions in a cooperative but slightly rushed atmosphere. It took two more weeks to schedule the next step, which had similar questions but less understanding.
- Could you explain DNS to me?
Cybersecurity Operations Defender
We started with a written technical interview, then I had a chat with HR, and after that, there were 2-3 more technical interviews all done over audio. If I passed those, the next step was a video call interview. They were quite slow to respond between each stage.
- Can you explain the DHCP protocol?
Cybersecurity Operations Defender
Started with a scenario based exercise requiring a diagram and a step by step explanation. Following the exercise was a technical screening done by a few of the senior positions within the company.
- Can you explain the process of a web browser connecting to a website?
