The interview questions are given to you 15-20 minutes before your actual interview, and they are the same for all candidates. So, you really need to think strategically and expand on the questions, offering examples of your work to make yourself stand out.

Interview with a team of 5 people. 7-8 questions were given 10 minutes before interview to review before you had to respond. Lasted for 30 minutes. Everyone at table takes turns reading one question to you. They don’t allow follow up questions, so they just listen until you feel like you answered question and stopped talking.

I was new to the district when I started, so I didn't know how things worked. Now I get it. The district has three hiring phases, starting in April. The first two are just for people already working there. They didn't post jobs for outsiders until like a month before school started, and then it moved fast. Most of the jobs were in the South End, which is a lower-income area. I applied for everything I was qualified for, sending a specific cover letter for each. I also found the principal's email and sent them a more direct, personal email asking them to consider me. The principal then reviews it and calls people in for interviews. I got calls from about 6 schools in one week. The interviews have a hiring team, usually 4-7 people. They can give you the questions 15 minutes before, so you can prep. It's best to get there early! They use a points system for interviews, and everyone on the team is trained to score your answers. They usually pick the highest-ranked candidates. I got a call that night offering me the job and asking if I'd accept because they were afraid I'd take another offer. I applied for a second-grade job, but they had an unposted kindergarten opening, so they asked which I preferred. Since I had experience in primary grades, I chose kindergarten. I had to do another informal interview, but it was pretty much a done deal.
