First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SeatGeek.
Product Manager
I got contacted by the recruiting team about a week after applying online. A quick video call was set up with someone from the product team to gauge my background and interest in the role. After that, I had another, longer video call with a team member that was more in-depth but still behavioral. They ended up going with candidates who had a more technical background, but the whole process was nice and the team members I spoke with were very kind and passionate about their work.
- Can you tell me why you're interested in SeatGeek?
- Could you share an example of a product you like using and explain your reasoning?
Product Manager
It was a pretty standard process. I had a screening call with a recruiter. Then, I had a second interview with a product manager where they asked about my prior experience and touched on some basic product questions. My biggest complaint about the process was lack of communication. They never followed up to tell me if they wanted to move forward or not. I assume they decided not to because I got a survey asking me about the interview experience. I sent an email after I got the survey, asking for confirmation if there were next steps or if they'd decided to go with other candidates, but the recruiter never responded. If I take time out of my day to interview, the least I expect is an update on my candidacy if you're going with other candidates.
- They asked pretty standard product questions as this was early on in the process.
Product Manager
It started with a standard interview with HR, then I talked to the Hiring Manager about behavioral stuff and my thoughts on SeatGeek (likes/dislikes). After that, there was a take-home assignment that included a presentation. Finally, I had a panel interview with people from Product, Design, Engineering, and Analytics.
- Which product do you like the most, and what about it appeals to you?
- What modifications would you propose for your preferred product?
- Can you explain your interest in SeatGeek?
