First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SEAT.
Intern
It was a very simple and friendly interview process. They asked easy questions to get to know my experience, and there was a part in English. I felt comfortable throughout the interview because the atmosphere was relaxed and professional. I also appreciated that they focused on understanding my skills and how I would fit into the team.
- Can you discuss your professional background?
- What are your main strengths?
- Could you describe how you've managed particular scenarios in past roles?
UX Designer
First, we had to submit a video introducing ourselves along with our CV. After they contacted us, there was an initial phone interview. Then, if we passed that stage, there was a video call with the team lead. We got the final selection confirmation about one to two weeks later via email.
- Could you tell me about your previous experience?
- What about your educational background?
- What do you know about this industry?
Program Trainee
The selection process has 4 parts: two phone interviews, an assessment center, and an interview with the director of the assigned area. The first phone interview is with HR and is pretty light, about 30-40 minutes, covering motivations, interests, professional experiences, and a CV review. After that, the second phone interview is basically a language test. A bilingual HR person will chat with you in German and English for about 15 minutes each (duration depends on your fluency). The questions here are more personal, not necessarily CV-focused, to avoid prepared answers. If successful, you get an 'invitation' (no travel expenses covered) to SEAT's main offices in Martorell (about 30km from Barcelona). If you're not from Barcelona, expect to spend a lot of time (2 days) and money to continue. The Assessment Center (about 5-6 per year) invites 6 candidates, and all, some, or none might be selected based on their fit. Candidates invited usually have different profiles and aren't necessarily competing against each other. The Assessment Center has 4 parts: 1. A 15-minute preparation for a personal presentation using a paper and projector, explaining your profile and why you're right for the program. 2. Writing about a personal experience (trip, vacation, etc.) on paper in a language they choose (German or English, depending on where they see you weaker). 3. & 4. Two group dynamics that can be a bit awkward: 'who do we save from a crashing helicopter?' or 'we're lost soldiers in the desert with insufficient supplies, what do we do?'. Overall, the AC is quite simple; if you have decent German and English, a bit of logic, and can structure ideas and prioritize (for dynamics), you'll be fine. Finally, if you pass the AC, you're invited (almost guaranteed a spot) for an interview with the director of your assigned area. Here, they'll ask about your CV again and especially about your experience in your assigned field.
- Can you tell us about yourself?
Software Engineer
I didn't receive any feedback throughout the process. I wasn't even sure if they got my details because there was no confirmation. First, there was a cognitive test, and they weren't going to give me any feedback on whether I passed it or not. I found out the result because I contacted them after a week. The response was: you don't match what we're looking for. No further information.
