Technical Operations Specialist
The HR contact was consistently late for scheduled calls and would email after the interview time stating they couldn't make it. They also didn't return my messages promptly. However, once I mentioned having another job offer, I received a much faster response. The HR person didn't come across as very friendly and just gave generic answers about the job. I didn't feel like they were invested in me as an individual, even though they offer great perks like free meals and excellent health insurance. It didn't feel like they genuinely cared about my career progression.
- Can you verify some details from my resume?
- Could you describe the job opportunity?
- Do you have any standard interview questions?
Office Position
After I applied, I was contacted quickly to complete a Predictive Index (PI survey) which they use for candidate screening. I guess I did well on that because the next step was a phone interview with the recruiter at the Ferndale, MI office, and it went great. Then, I had a video interview with the HR Director in San Diego, which I did at the Ferndale office and got a tour. I thought that went well and I was really interested in the job. That evening, they sent me a link for a Wonderlic test. It felt like a lot of testing, but I passed it too. I didn't hear back for about two weeks, so I asked about the status. They told me abruptly that the job was downgraded and I was no longer being considered. I'm very disappointed with how they handled that communication, it wasn't professional at all.
- Can you tell me about your personality?
- How do your skills fit with what we're looking for?
- What are your thoughts on company culture?
Web Developer
It was a big proccess, Eric Ward made contacted me by mobile phone explaining about the job offer, its benefits and roles, duties and rights. After that, I had to perform some tests, in order to confirm job necessary habilities, and personal profile. Then I had a series of Skype calls with employees and the LATAM president of the company and finally, after a few weeks, I got a call from Eric informing about the good news, that I had just been accepted to work for Search optics! In my opinion, that was the best selective proccess I´ve ever been through, not because I was accepted, but due to its organization and capacity of truly testing deeply my skills.
- Checking on your skills to see if it fits the job duties, what are your professional goals, how do you see yourself in 5 years, What should they expect from you (Your intention inside the company). Explaining why you wanted to work for their company.
- A big number of questions so they could draw your professional and personal profile.
Marketing Intelligence
So, after they screened my resume, I had to do two online tests, one for personality and one for IQ. Then, I had to email them some bullet points on why I'd be a good fit for the role. The recruiter checked out the tests and my response, and then scheduled a Skype interview with the head of the department. I thought there might be a second interview, but they ended up offering me the job right after the 1-hour Skype chat.
