The interview process was long. First, a recruiter reached out for a screening call to see if I checked their boxes. Then I spoke directly via zoom with the hiring manager to see if myself and them thought it would be good to continue. Finally, I had a panel interview that lasted about 3 hours. That was a little crazy. I didn’t feel like the panel interview was necessary, because everyone asked me the same questions. After that, I was told I would get an offer but had to provide 3 references and pass a background check prior to them sending the official offer. Again, a little weird. It would’ve been nice to have known that step would come after the panel interview. However, I would say everyone I met along the way was really nice and honest.

The interview process is pretty straight forward. First, there was a phone screening with HR. Then, a phone screening with the Hiring Manager. After that, an in-person interview with the Hiring Manager, followed by 6 of your future co-workers, the HR Manager, and finally the Hiring Manager again. It's a long day, but it's nice to meet your future coworkers. Everyone was pleasant and loved their job. I asked real questions about people's perceptions and feelings, and got honest answers, so I have realistic expectations. The lab tour was awesome, a brand new lab that anyone interested in bio-pharmaceuticals will love.

This was a horrible process, the recruiter was rude and condescending. She forwarded my CV for a junior position even though it was for a senior role. The job description asked for industrial experience, which I have, but the recruiter seemed to make the decision without consulting the hiring manager. It made me think the hiring system is chaotic. It was a horrible experience. I am not sure if she was the hiring manager or acting on their behalf because she asked questions that the hiring manager should have asked, not the recruiter.
