Communications Graduate
First, there were SHL online tests, including numerical and verbal reasoning. Then, a video interview. The assessment centre involved a one-on-one interview and a group discussion where we had to decide on allocating a fixed budget to different graduate training ideas, like a placement trip and a mentoring scheme, and come to an agreement within a time limit. There was also a scenario-based presentation and a numerical test. The feedback process was really slow; it took over a month just to schedule a call to find out why I was rejected. The communication from what is supposed to be a 'Communications Company' was disappointing.
- Can you share an instance where you demonstrated resilience?
- Tell me about a situation where you exhibited leadership qualities.
- Recount an experience where you had to adjust to new circumstances.
Office Position
I applied online and all communication before the in-person interview was via email and online tests. The in-person interview had set questions and didn't allow for discussion based on my CV or experience. The interviewers weren't able to answer my questions. After the interview with the Hiring Managers/Directors, I was rejected, which I feel was a fair decision. However, I think they should at least call or email to inform candidates of rejection, ideally with some personalized feedback. I just got an automated rejection notice. My suggestion for improvement is to be more personal and less automated in their recruitment process, as they are dealing with people.

Human Resources Adviser
A third-party recruiter reached out initially, and after a lot of back and forth, a phone screen with the HR Manager was scheduled. During the screen, when I mentioned my benefits requirements, the HR manager aggressively asked if I would negotiate with my current company if an offer was made. This made me wonder why the role had been open for so long. After the call, I was sent a 3-part assessment test. I didn't hear back for about a month and a half, and then I was dispositioned.
- If an offer were extended, would you negotiate and accept a counteroffer from your present employer?
- What prompts your search for a new position away from your current employer?
Human Resources Graduate Program
First up is an online test with verbal and numerical reasoning. It's not too tough, but practicing beforehand is a good idea. Next, there's a pre-recorded interview. You get two minutes to answer, with a one-minute prep time. Don't rush your answers; take your time or you'll finish too quickly. Expect about four questions, usually covering the company and your background. Just a heads-up, they don't sponsor work visas for this role.
- Can you share an instance where you had to work during your personal time?
- What are your experiences and knowledge about the company?
