Team Leader
The interview process involved two interviewers. I was presented with a job title and duties that did not align with my resume and experience, which was for a management position, not a clerical one. The role seemed to be primarily data entry and issuing reports on any mistakes made by the two employees I would supervise. I did not apply for this type of position. I also did not like the work environment they offered.
- How would you handle a situation where an employee is not performing their duties correctly and making errors?
- What do you consider to be your greatest strength?
Accountant
I had a call with the Finance Manager first. Then, I had an on-site interview with four different people. The interview itself wasn't super hard, but I was put off when they mentioned that during regular closings, people usually stay until 9 pm, and even later during quarterly closings. They did say they provide dinner, though. They use an old version of JDE, which made me a bit unhappy, especially hearing about staying late and using outdated software. It's wild that a big company like this doesn't invest more in staff or technology, and the only perk for long hours is dinner.
- Can you share your experience from previous companies?
- Can you tell me what you are looking for?
Assistant
I applied on their website and about a month later, a recruiter contacted me. I had almost forgotten about my application. The recruiter promised to send over a job description before our call so I could get reacquainted with the role, but she never did. The position wasn't even listed on the site anymore, making it hard to prep. After a 45-minute call with the recruiter, which included some sort of 'test,' I was given online assessments. I guess I did okay because the recruiter called back saying I'd advance to a phone interview with the hiring manager. The interview was set for the next week, but the manager never called. I reached out to the recruiter to find out what happened and was told the manager was in a meeting and couldn't talk. Honestly, I would have expected a heads-up, like an email or call, to apologize – something I'd definitely do as a candidate if I missed an interview. It's like, if I missed an interview, I'm sure I wouldn't get another chance. That should have been a red flag. After a week of rescheduling, and oh yeah, it was pushed back twice, I finally talked to the manager. It was pretty obvious he hadn't prepped or even looked at my resume beforehand. The whole experience wasn't great, and I didn't feel like I'd be a good fit there. Unsurprisingly, neither the recruiter nor the manager followed up to let me know about the next steps. Just a quick 'thanks but no thanks' note would be basic courtesy. Thankfully, I got an offer from another company the same day as this interview, which made me realize I definitely didn't want to work here due to their lack of professionalism.
- What makes you want to join this company?
Logistics Account Executive
The interview process included a written and Excel assessment, followed by interviews with both the direct supervisor and the department supervisor. The total time for the interview and assessment was about two hours.
- Can you describe your ability to work collaboratively with a team?
