I had a chat with the hiring manager, and they were really nice and made me feel welcome. It wasn't a scary interview at all, more like a casual conversation. We talked for about half an hour, and I got to ask them some questions at the end.

Behavioral Presentation

It was a straightforward interview over Skype. They asked about my previous research experience and to describe a past poster presentation and its results in detail. I got an offer within a week and accepted to join the program at SDSU. The interview process was pretty smooth and easy to do. My advice is to prepare talking points about your previous research, your qualifications, and how well you fit the lab you're applying to.

SDSU Research Foundation gave me a call for a basic phone screen. Then I went in for a 1-hour interview with the Directors of both departments I'd be working for, plus a department manager. They asked me job-specific and behavioral questions. A week later, SDSU Research Foundation called with the offer and to do a background check.
