Network Engineer
Got referred by a few staffing agencies. The job title and duties listed seemed a bit off, which I thought was strange since multiple agencies were contacting me for the same position. I went ahead with the interviews anyway. I felt like I answered most of the questions correctly, but then the staffing agency told me I got none of them right. This makes me think there was another reason I didn't get the job, or maybe just some kind of miscommunication. What really bugs me is not knowing if the issue was with the employer or the agency.
- Can you explain how dynamic routing protocols function?
- What methods do you use for encrypting traffic during transmission?
- How do you ensure data is encrypted when it's stored?
Technical Writer
I had a few zoom interviews, each about 30 minutes long. I talked with different people who work there, and they really wanted to know about my skills and what I've done. They didn't talk much about their company or why I should join. The last interview was a couple of days after that.
- Can you provide extensive details regarding your professional background?
- What specific industries have you been involved with?
- Could you elaborate on the projects you have undertaken?
Scrum Master
It was really smooth and right to the point. Had 3 stages and all interviewers made me feel comfortable and wanted transparency. The recruiter also made sure he was communicating back and forth, he made negotiations easier for me and worked with my schedule.
- Tell me about your experience.
- How do you handle conflict resolution?
- How would you manage a new team that is completely new to scrum?
Desktop Support Specialist
It was an easy going interview. I met with two managers for a panel interview. The interview questions were very straightforward. I answered with short responses and gave examples of my past work experiences that closely matched the questions asked. The managers seemed to like my answers and gave positive responses to my questions. However, the recruiting staff told me I wasn't succinct enough and used too many buzzwords and high-level responses. This was confusing since the questions were simple and they didn't ask for more details. I thought my answers were good since they responded positively after each question. It feels like they don't communicate well internally. When I told the recruiter about this, he didn't seem to care. I read that SDI Presence values peer and manager feedback for reviews, but it seems they only care about it if it comes from who they think is a reputable source.
- Can you confirm your willingness and ability to take on various responsibilities in this role?
- On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate your experience with Active Directory?
- Have you previously provided support to C-suite executives?
